Whiteface or Gore - Choosing the Right Mountain

snoloco
I have skied both these mountains many times and I have found each mountain is a better choice for certain people.

For Example,
Tree Skiers - Gore
More Vertical, less traversing and skating - Whiteface
Snowboarders - Whiteface
Familys With Children - Whiteface or Gore
Intermediates and beginners - Gore
More experienced skiers - Whiteface or Gore (depends on terrain preferences)

What do you think?
I've lived in New York my entire life.

I think you are right.

Both mountains are great, for different reasons.

I think both have something for everyone.

Both are great

Whiteface builds up your ski legs as you ski so much more vert in a run.

Gore has better tree skiing and makes you a better skater.
if You French Fry when you should Pizza you are going to have a bad time

When it is great Whiteface is great!  You have to be lucky or local to hit Whiteface when it is great.  You can have a great day at Gore when you can't ski Whiteface because of windholds.  There are more better days per season at Gore than Whiteface.  IMO  I'll be at Whiteface tomorrow
Proud to call Gore My Home Mountain
Covid stole what would have been my longest season ever!
I'll be back
