Wilderness Bowl at Windham

Thehof
Out of sheer boredom I was looking at new trail map of Windham. I noticed an area called the wilderness bowl , what is this?
I haven't been there in quite awhile and never saw this. Anybody know what this is about?

It is the area between East and West Peaks.  They just named it on this year's trail map.  Nothing is in there currently except the new trail Wolf's Prey which was cut this year.  They will likely add more stuff in there in the future though.

Thanks for the answer. What's the tree policy over there. Is the wilderness bowl something that's worth checking out or is it big trouble. I have been in trouble there in the past, just wondering if they've lighten up at all.

Windham does not have an open boundary policy like Jay Peak, MRG and Sunday River do.  They will probably be just as strict as before and you will get busted with your ticket pulled.  There is no tree skiing or clearing in there, so don't ski it.  It isn't labeled as a glade, just as a section of the mountain that they will likely expand more to in the future.  I believe that Windham has one glade over between Windfall and Wipeout.  They also either have or want to add snowmaking to Wipeout.

I say go ahead and ski it.  If they yell at you simply say you thought it was a new glade because it's now labeled "wilderness bowl".
The day begins...  Your mountain awaits.

Platty is where I usually hang. The policy there is
The woods are neither opened nor closed. They are not patrolled so ski in a group of three.

Nonsense. If the situation is handled correctly 9 out of 10 times you get away with a slap on the wrist where ever it may be . The one time it results in anything other the solution is to stop patronizing the place

Will after 2 pm in the afternoon count?  That's the one thing I've learned after years of being called a serial offender of mountain rules.

There is a new mtn bike trail called Wilderness Roll located in these woods, so I would think its possible to follow that through there as a ski trail.
