XGames Athlete Disqualified for wearing Sarah Burke Armband

Earlier this afternoon, Langley McNeal (USA) was disqualified for wearing a Sarah Burke armband in the women’s Skier X event. Langley had advanced to the finals, before being disqualified. Although reports around the incident are hard to find, it appears as though the French team protested McNeal’s wearing of the armband.

 

Completely ridiculous IMO.

I was watching today, and there was no mention of that at all.

That's ridiculous. Although, she might have been better off to take the approach of Hinterlandian (in fact, from my town) X-Games competitor  Dara Howell:

Yeah I read that a little while ago. Because of two hair ties around her boots. Sucks that something like that gets you DQ'd. She said she didn't know about the rule... you'd think you would know the rules front and back if you're in a position like that!

Good that she publicly posted her mistake/apology though. Hopefully people still aren't blowing up the XGames FB wall with e-hate.
