The Yankees, despite being my favorite team, are managed by a group of people that make the worst ski area management look like a bunch of geniuses. But despite that, growing up listening to games on 770 on my walkman with Rizzuto and Kay while skateboarding around makes it impossible to shake my love of the team.
So I still check in every day, to see what's going on. And I have to say, despite never being my favorite player, it is awfully weird not seeing Jeter's name in the boxscore everyday.
Hopefully Tanaka's arm holds together for another 30 starts, or else the next game I'm excited about will probably be when Heart plays Shea later this summer.
One of my customers had ESPN on when I was in the store (very distracting by the way) and I saw that Jeter is not coming to the stadium for the Marlins' 2 games here. How should I feel about this?
On a more positive note, I just read that Aaron Judge hit his career 60th HR in his 197th game, which is significant I guess. The previous fastest to 60 HRs was Macguire at 202 games.
