You are correct, Warp it is in our backyard, actually about mid-way between TDHQ and SBRHQ.
This place has been for sale for a while - strange that nobody wants their own private ski hill. Anybody with the money to buy it would likely rather have waterfront. Here is the listing: http://www.chestnutpark.com/properties/listing/480980393 When it was open to the public, that place was known as Curlew, here is a pic from way back in the day: A friend and I skied it before it was sold to the current owner, back in the late 90s or so. Short runs but nice pitch, faces north. The old ski lodge was in ruins when I saw it, the current house is located about where that bare patch is on the hill, to looker's left of the poma lift.

Over priced. Plus the current owner is a JONG son of a dentist.. It was a cool place to ski when I was a grom. My family always had a pass at another defunct hill, but there was reciprocity a few weekends a season, and for races etc..
A friend and I discussed buying it when it originally went on the market in the mid 90's. .. But we were already burdened with our own mortgages, so it was moot. Myself and some friends poached the abandoned hill quite frequently in the mid to late 80's. Fun times.

Yea, but I suspect the guy lacks about 7 figures on his credit rating (no to be critical). Besides, this would turn a fun hobby into a life or death venture.

Agree ptex , was simply sayin' kid has the right 'tude and work ethic .
BUT then again IF what TD and SBR said that JONG has had this puppy lingering on the market with no bites for a long time .....hey who knows might be time for a serious lowball bid, that COUPLED with the exchange rate of approx 71 cents on a dollar it MAY be in somebody's wheelhouse who wants their own paradise .

Good thinking Warp D. It's probably worth under a million Cdn, max. So about 700k US. The zoning is good for severance opportunities, but a good 50% of the acreage is semi-wetland, with a very high water table. Not the most attractive land to develop. There'd be little return, so anyone buying it would be doing so for the desire to have what Rob (owner) originally found attractive.. A private ski hill for you and your buddies.
