Its not over yet but here's my current tally:
Gore - 45 Sugarbush - 3 WF - 2 Gonna try to hit WF this week. Kids have been sick the past couple weekends so we haven't been able to make it up to Gore. Hoping to get at least one day up there this weekend. Our best "spring days" were March 8-10 and March 30th. It hasn't been a huge snow year but the cold temps and strategic snowmaking by Gore have made it a great year IMO. Mother nature sure helped out by dumping 8-12 inches on us every few weeks or so. Being close has made it much easier to hit the good snow days. There was only one day I skied right around Pres weekend that was nasty cold hard wind blown. Even the day the chalkboard at the gondola said "-40 wind chill at the summit" was a good day. It was -10 in the parking lot. When I was living in NJ I always felt depressed this time of year and bummed that I didn't get more days. This year I feel pretty content. I could get some more days but I don't feel like I have to. Shaman how is the big K compared to WF last week? Might have to make a trip over there before its all done. |
Sounds like the move upstate worked out pretty well for you... |

Dan, the Big K has been stellar this week as I hit it Monday and today and the conditions and coverage are fantastic for mid April! They give you a $29 ticket with any mt's season pass or just show them ANY lift ticket from the '12-'13 season, the caveat is they are only running the K1 Gondi and the Superstar chair. If you don't mind hiking a little as we did there is a lot of spring freshies to be had. Today we parked a car over at Bear and finished up with a most enjoyable rip of rain groomed spring corn

To say its been life changing would be big understatement. Quality of life change is better than I dreamed. The ski days were a nice extra:) Thanks Shaman for the beta on the big K. I didn't make it over there last week. Maybe this week unless life gets in the way. I might be done. |

Adding 1 day at Gore to my count. Closed the place up last Sunday. Ski Patrol followed me down last run.
I noticed a couple of real good tele-dudes on the hill - must have been members of this blog. |
One was me (i'm okay). Others were the normal Gore crew. I always say you can tell how good a mountain is by the ratio of Telemarkers to Snowlerbladers. Gore has a solid ratio.

Killington is hoping to make it to June 2. I'm at 40 so far...it was reached at St-Sauveur last Sunday, hoping to detour on my retour trip to Montreal tomorrow. It's better than last year, but below par for this time of the year for the 8 seasons. Very little days away from the local areas for me this season due to daughter's racing and work situation. Off the top of my head I've gotten 3 days in the Townships (Sutton, Orford, Owl's Head), 2 days in VT (MRG), 1 day in the Laurentians (MSS)...and 2 days in West Virginia (Timberline and White Grass). The other 32 days are within 55 miles from my house (Ste-Marie, Calabogie Peaks, Fortune, Edelweiss, Vorlage and Cascades).
