Zach's Pics from The Ski Bowl

Zach's injury has him out snowshoeing.

He took some pics from the Gore Ski Bowl on Saturday.

Sorry it took me so long to get these up...

Why is nobody skinning and skiing that? Looks very nice.

As far as I know, Gore isn't very friendly to uphill access during the season. I know for a fact they won't let you if you don't have a lift ticket. If you do, they still may harp on you for it being dangerous or being a liability.

I almost got my ticket pulled for planning to drop the 4' rock under the ADK triple. It is essentially part of the trail, and it's not marked off. It was pretty absurd actually.

I get it. And why would you want to skin if you had a lift ticket?

Another theory ...  it's low elevation and the snow isn't very deep. Looks like good coverage but the grass is really short as most was planted late in the season.   Looks like the chairs have maybe 10 inches on them. That lift hasn't run so that could be total snowfall on the ground.

Zach walked right up. Doesn't seem like it was being guarded.

Fuje.... that rock under the triple. While you smoke that drop in your sleep, it's a pretty public spot. Could give lesser skiers ideas?

If I had an AT setup I'd go for it!
But other than MC2, I'm not sure of many other people who would.

Maybe the Condor will fly in and drop down 46er.

That small rock under the adk express should always be allowed. Lots have done it. I saw Patrol boot some kids off there once saying " we're busy today ". Claim to fame would be dropping off the chair onto it and skiing away without falling. Judging from tracks on the snow, I'm pretty sure that's been done.
