That’s pretty cool and thanks for sharing but shouldn’t it say “first in 86 years”?

Besides the guiding service I’d assume they have to provide Avy Control and Patrol services and maybe a cat track cut in the skin up and get back to the base area

Sounds like an intriguing idea given the growth in skinning
Not sure they really are going to get rich doing this but that’s probably not their goal anyway

Wonder if this is on forest service land so maybe their deal with the Feds is a % of revenue so they aren’t out a ton of cash on a lease

The insurance might be costly though

I love the idea but most of the area is guided only and I imagine that, that service is going to be costly to try and cover their expenses.

I’d like to see a town like silverton maintain a set skin track to maintained gladed areas outside of the Kendall ski area but leave it as a use at your own risk without patrol or the expense of mitigation efforts.

The RASTA stuff in Vermont looks pretty darn cool.

I think a minimalist approach is going to work best, especially if you have some very low angle and safe sort of zones for people to get experience on.

Aren't there already a few places in VT that do this?
