Saw this last night on facebook - told my wife I'm aspiring to be like this dude at 99
Skiing is not a sport, it is a way of life.

Rode with Hoyt Sr. up the Lookout Triple on Tuesday. He told me he's gonna be 80 in May. This was inspiring, as he was on-duty as a patroller. Nice guy.

Called in some poachers under the lift as we were heading up. Yelled at them as well. Still feisty. He told me he didn't feel like he was approaching 80. I responded, "80 is the new 65"! He laughed and thanked me.

BRAVO

I like the part where he says he's 99 1/2 years old

My neighbor is 82 or 83 and skis every damn day during the week. He takes the weekends off, says weekend skiing is for kids. LOL

i had an inspirational moment at platekill on Friday(2/10). I meet this guy ripping down freefall. we wind up riding the dbl together. Turns out he is 73 years old and grew up skiing hickory where they named a glade after him. we get off the dbl and ski the glades off overlook. I'm thinking to myself is there anyway I can do this at 73? skiing yes, but skiing some of the hardest trails the hill has to offer?

Around 10 yrs ago there was a gentleman named Pepe in my old bowling league.  He was in his 80s and he used to ROLLER  BLADE in the park a couple of times a week to stay in shape for his annual ski trip to Utah!  I always called him my hero (sadly he's no longer with us).  The way I see it I'll be lucky to still be walking and breathing at 80!  God bless these guys and gals, they truly are an inspiration!

There is a guy in Michigan who is 106 and still skiing.
At 106 I'd be buying lift tickets over a season's pass.  Y'know, 'cause it may be cheaper in the end if I go toes up.
Sent from the driver's seat of my car while in motion.

Would hope season pass would be given to a 100+ skier at most areas after liability release waiver is signed. Talk about earning it ..I think this constitutes earning it big time...most are dead by this point, let alone skiing.

Thank you for this!

An update on Lou Batori. He passed away in February at age 107. Crystal Mountain in Northem Michigan where he skied mostly at has renamed their “Cheers” trail to “Cheers to Lou”. I think that was a very classy thing to do
