Aspen to buy Interwest

Well I was right about Interwest getting bought but a new player rose up
Aspen has formed a partnership with the investment firm the owns Squaw / Alpine Meadows to buy Interwest for $1.5b

What ever this thing gets called is the 4th and I'd say last major force in the industry.  This is sort of the Mt Collective alliance I think so those others in that may go this way.

Of the other multi Mt operators Okemo and Peaks are now the next to sell possibly very soon.

Smuggs and a few other independents like Telluride also will get sold quickly.

Reading between the lines on the Press release.  Interwest areas will still be on Max pass next year but not following year.  Aspen and Squaw are both on Mt Collective so that is where those resorts will end up.

Huge hit to Max pass going forward.

Aspen/KSL just announced this morning that they are acquiring Mammoth now too.

Makes sense as Interwest had an interest in Mammoth

I think your mistake is thinking that the attractiveness of the women in some of these ski towns is anywhere near the attractiveness of women in Arizona. There are some hotties in ski towns, sure, but in my experience going to strip clubs in the sticks, strip club gigs don't usually draw those girls.
