OK then if you lose you buy me a hot dog at Mountain Creek and if I lose I'll buy you a ticket to any mountain in NY.

Their are plenty of cheap ways on saving . You can buy tickets for Catamont for 40$ from Potter Brothers. I never spend that much for lift tickets.

How about a ticket at Goodnow, bet you could afford that.

It is not about the money.  It is that my parents will not let me get into a bet with someone who is more than 3 times my age.

I was kind of kidding about the bet snoloco.

For me a "bet" usually code for "I spoke to the GM and he told me it was so."

Like when I tried to bet Coach that the new Adk Express was a HSQ.

Haul rope coming down.  According to Facebook, it is being cut up into 5 foot sections for scrapping.

Bottom terminal coming apart.

From one of the pictures in the facebook album (it isn't shown here), it looks like they pulled the cabins off the gondola.  It won't open for the summer till July.  I believe that it is closed for the construction of the ADK Express.

The original plan was to save them for future use on the Dark Side, but that may have changed. I'll see what I can find out. Locals may know, if so please chime in.

It would probably cost more to reuse those chairs and convert them to fixed grip than to buy new ones, not to mention that the ADK Express chairs were horribly uncomfortable as well. The Dark Side doesn't need more than a double anyway.  It should be a full complete lift and not a mish mash of different parts from different manufacturers.  Lifts that are made from mismatched parts are much harder to maintain than a full complete lift.  The towers could be reused, but it would cost a lot to adjust them for the proper height.  The towerheads might be able to be reused, but the sheave assemblys are outdated and should not be used as it is hard to get parts for them.  However, the towerheads might need to be replaced as new sheaves might not be compatible with them.  Keep in mind that the Dark Side chair that will be replaced has the same problems that the ADK Express had, and will have if it is reused on the Dark Side-mostly old outdated equipment, worn out and unreliable, and hard to get replacement parts in a timely manner.

Needless to say, I would rather have Gore wait till they have the money to build a decent lift on the Darkside rather than reusing one that has the same problems as the current one.
