That was before you started comparing trains to skiing.

Roundy round is a technical motor term one of my engineer customers uses.  It always cracks me up.  Sometimes less is more.

When it comes to this lift orda usually does what ever is cheaper so that should answer your question.

I'm into the mechanics of the lifts.  I like to know this stuff.
If you really want to know how ORDA plans to power this lift:

True. I really appreciate that. A little thing but big to me.

Cool. I'm surprised there is extra dirt.  Seems like when I dig up something and then burry it I come up short!

Maybe this is what happened last winter with National Grid when their rates practically doubled. I heard they had to buy power from Quebec when demand was stronger than supply, but in my head, this image makes more sense.

How can you run a high speed lift up to 1100 fpm with cows?  I just don't think that will work.
I've lived in New York my entire life.

This thread has taken a turn for the better:

A man staggers into the emergency room with a concussion, multiple bruises, and a five iron wrapped around his neck. Naturally the doctor asks him what happened. "Well, it was like this" said the man. "I was having a quiet round of golf with my wife, when at a difficult hole, we both sliced our balls into a pasture of cows. We went to look for them, and while I was rooting around I noticed that one of the cows had something white in it's rear end. I walked over and lifted up the tail, and sure enough, there was a golf ball with my wife's monogram on it stuck right in the middle of the cow's butt. Thats when I made my mistake." "What did you do?", asked the doctor. "Well, I lifted the tail, pointed, and yelled to my wife, "Hey! This looks like yours!"

It seemed like most of the dirt was now coming from the back dirt lot and a little something coming from behind the maintenance shop. Can't quite tell what is going on back there though. I also think that the new foundations are a good bit larger than the older ones.

Wait... What?

What was wrong with the grade on upper Fox Lair before the turn?

Prolly going to fill in the swale that captures the blown off snow from the top section. Smooth it out and the snow can swirl across into the trees instead. They actually need to let trees grow in spots or even plant some. Not likely too hard to mow groom.

Back to the triple replacement. I’ll miss the old gal. I had many years of good rides with many interesting folks to lot of great skiing from that triple. I’d really like to have a chair when the powers to be decide what’s happening with them. The mountain themselves need to use them some way that’s in line with they’re past.

Odds are the dirt movement/transplant was more of a "hey, we have this big truck here that can climb the hill... what can we put in it?".  Personally, if I had access to it I would get an elephant gun and ride around in it looking for tremors.
