I don't think frk was suggesting it was GONE, but had it been whacked by a loader.
When it opens, let's do a before and after shot here with this as the before.

lets just say snoloco would grade it and groom it and put a bubble chair up to access it.
I think frk is referring to an imaginary trail dreamed about by a certain dog that is in a cartoon. Not a rock with said name.

Ran into a guy at the Stewarts in Long Lake, he said they have brought in extra workers from Lietner Poma to get'er done by the deadline. Lots and lots of electrical work yet to be done. That's what I was told anyway. I haven't been there since I drove through Indian Lake a few weeks back to get a fix from the Pickle Ladies.

I was there on Sunday and saw the lift completed.  It looks really nice and should be great to ride.  At the bottom, there is still a small amount of work to be done.  There was this huge chunk of concrete right on the trail next to tower 1.  They started breaking it up with an excavator with a jackhammer.  The queue still needs to be set up as the old one won't work for groups of 4.  They also need to add the loading ramp and build the chair parking rails in the old building.  The chair parking rails are not a necessity and I am pretty sure the lift can open without them in place.  I predict it opens the Saturday after Thanksgiving on 11/29.

Whoa, Sno,

Sounds like more than "a small amount of work to be done." to me.  If your opening prognostication is not spot on, meaning, if they spin it sooner, what's in-it for us?  Your youthful exuberance is most commendable, alas, as a one of the Wise-Men once said, "Old Age and Treachery will overcome youth and skill."  What say you show up on 11/29 and we all do some turns and BB-Q to boot?

Ski you @ Gore, 11/29.

Wasn't the AE2 supposed to have a different unload point than the AE1? From the trail map and Harvey's photo it appears like the unload is the same.

It would have been nicer if Gore had posted a wider angle shot with some other context. It is difficult to even tell if they regraded the ramp from the photo. We will just have to wait for a real picture from a report.

Offload is the same location adjacent Saddle Lodge. The BIG difference is that it's about six feet lower. They got rid of the immediate downhill right hand turn that seemed to foil some newbies. Should help keep pile-up to a minimum. Should.

Thanks for the clarification. The regrading sounds like it will be much better.

Here's a pic. It's much wider and not as steep.

The new runs faster and fits 4 instead of 3.  That is why it has fewer chairs.

IDK, many times chairs go half full and now there's 77 or 33%-ish less chairs ? Does the new lift run 33%+ faster ?

OR....

214 x 3 = 642 riders

VS.

137 x 4 = 548 riders
