54.

But, much like the author of this quiz (https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/individual/charles-murray), the test seems a bit racist to me. You think a lot of black people in the inner city know who Jimmie Johnson is or go fishing?

It seems like Murray decided that his redneck cousin represented "real" America outside the bubble, and decided to tailor a quiz towards him.

His redneck cousin would do pretty poorly on a quiz that asked who ASAP Ferg is and how many times he's ridden the bus to work, but those weren't the questions he asked. He chose pickup truck ownership and military rank recognition.

They talked about this on the MMM forum:

Interesting that's what you got out of my post.

When did I ever say anything about respecting the military?

Is there an echo in here......here......here?

A lot of people surely respect the military.......without having (apparently redneck) knowledge of the ranks, which is all I was referring to.

45.  The walls of my bubble are thick....which is probably good if you are going to live in a bubble I guess.

The fact I haven't been to any of those chain restaurants, or seen any of those movies or tv shows really bubbles me in I'd bet.

You and I, Brownski....looks like we are the resident rednecks?!?

I re-took the quiz, with a more critical eye on my answers.  Still got a 64.

I blame it on my parents, God rest their souls.......I grew up in a shitty environment!  I'm classic first generation professional in the results.

Well, apparently I'm more of a "real American" than camp and tjf, so I'm happy. Maybe it's because I realize Branson is a gambling mecca in Missouri or that I worked construction for a few summers.

I don't like being called some type of "elitist" because I don't know all the military ranks (even though I knew a few)
