Aldis Store Trails 2/15/15: Hiking for fresh turns

My buddy was trying to talk me into going to Greek today but, after being out in the cold overnight working I was not up for sitting on a lift getting colder.  So I suggested doing some hiking to stay warm.  We got a few runs in the woods, hit a small cliff drop and did the trail above the Aldis store in Binghamton.  I didn't feel cold the whole time and it was nice getting some fresh tracks.

I did say small cliff.  Hey man I'm over 250 lbs and middle aged, got to be careful.  But, decent for being in my own back yard.  It was definitely a little bigger on the side I hit.

Roger that. Hey, work all night outside, then hike through deep snow, you're doing pretty good I'ld say.

I have a cliff drop at my house but haven't had the nerve to ski it yet...

DUDE!! I launched off my picnic table yesterday. Sadly no one was around to take my picture so I could post it on the internet.

Yea I know some of you are jealous of my ski stoke.  But, I've wanted to ski this hill for a long time.

I certainly can see why, that cliff band is amazing.

Glade, we gotta name for BC skiers who claim victory over a hill that size - ten turn Vern.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

I've never been to BC, don't live in BC.  I'd like to go sometime.  But, thanks for the encouragement.  I hiked for that, and you shit on me.  For where I live, and for pretty much being a lift served skier in the past, I think that's good.  Just doing it made me want to hike for more fresh turns.  Been wanting to do Aqua Terra to this year.  Wonder how much of an asshole you will try to make me feel like after I do that.

Well GR, You're no A-hole. Don't believe that was the intention. But in a way, it was a bit of a paradox. Hinterlandians get praise from a certain base material for skiing such hills.

Whoah there, cowboy. Our hills are at least 11 turns long. I shall call myself 11-turn Kevin.

Way to get after it, GladeRunner. The backyard turns are the best.

Well now, hold on one second there pardner....Round these parts, we spell our WHOAs with only one H. So don't be a doubling Hs in a manoeuvre to add some spectre of H-interlandian colour. Stay on the favourite topic, keep centre, honour the forum, be a good neighbour there you turn 11 Kevin.

Too much labour. I fancy another pint,,, Where's me Guinness ?  " Rule Britannia  Britannia rules the waves...."

Well played, Snowballs. The "our" is sacred to Hinterlanian dialect, not to mention the "re."

And now, back to the turns. (we hope)
