Biggest rip off mountain

My award for the biggest cost for least value has to be Jiminy peak. Stowe is outrageous and comes in 2nd. Stowe offers a good products, but a sky high filthy price. I'm boycotting stowe and jiminy.

And YES I've skied jiminy peak. Multiple times It's one of those place that gets lots of natural snow not too far away, but unfortunately they groom basically the entire hill after a fresh overnight dump. And their prices are a disgrace. It's a hill, not a mountain. Just think a half size okemo. 69 bucks for a lift ticket. EVEN mid week. Holiday prices are 77. They must be smoking that crack pipe.

Bring back Brodie. Oh and catamount might turn into a jiminy jr, which would really suck and give no options in the berkshires. Ski butternet has good mid week prices, but grooms everything flat after a storm (blasphemy!)

I'm really disappointed with Jimminy because they bought Brodie, promply decided to close it down and then sold it.  They sold it with a deed restriction that prohibits its use as a for profit ski area.  That is the sort of move that earns a boycott for me!

I don't think people get that it's all big corps trying to squeeze out middle class people from skiing and make as much money as possible. They don't give a rats ass about skiing. I was at jiminy peak when it was BOMBING snowing out and these MORON'S had all their snow guns pumping out that absolute shit all over the trail ruining the what would have been great conditions. I'll never give them a dime again.

For some good berkshire skiing, hit up berkshire east(not a good place for COMPLETE beginners so watch who you bring with) Great ski area! They leave pow on their wide really steep trails. That's a good place to hit up after it dumps. I call it Magic jr. They do a great job grooming too, but are smart and leave fresh pow after an overnight dump

Also, ski bosquet in pittsfield is a really good place. Really nice affordable tickets. Smart grooming policy.

Jay Peak is only $49 if you have a pass to anywhere else.

I've been there more than once. Let's start with facts instead of opinions

1)So jiminiy peak leaves powder on most of its trails? Is that what you're saying? Anyone who ski's the place knows what the deal is. Ask the lifties or the regs. You're lucky if you they leave 1 or 2 trails ungroomed after a snowstorm. It's worse than okemo. You'll see the groomers first thing in the morning destroying powder. This is not an uninformed opinion. It's fact.

2)The price of the tickets....Is the statement also not true? Please tell me the window ticket prices I quoted and how they are wrong?

Your ass just owned. Deal with it

Another negative thread from PowAss

Getting the idea that PowAss is about the same age but is the anti loco

Loco is not paying for his skiing so bring on the cushy high speed bubble 6 pack chairs and blow every trail by Xmas.  Pow wants no man made at all which is a sign he is from a southern low altitude hill where they can only blow cement and no grooming and he wants everything for free.  Good blown snow when it's really cold can be really awesome stuff.

Both of you need to go find girlfriends that can ski and leave us old men to talk skiing.

When you say crappy conditions are you talking about temperature or snow fall or grooming or ?  I am just wondering.  I am not going to slam anyone for an opinion but thought I would ask.

I have been to Jay Peak in January for the last three or four years in late January.  We go there for three days and I think for the last three years we lost a day do to high winds/insane cold.  That doesn't mean the place sucks.  Its pretty far up north so its somewhat expected.  I would say the terrain is awesome but it does get cold.

I second that. C'mon Sno. You went once and had a bad experience because you encountered adverse weather conditions, the kind of thing that can happen anywhere. Just bad luck. We get it.

Jay Peak does not suck. Your continual whining insistence that it does suck is tiresome and undermines what little credibility you have.
