Boating Thread

First time of the season out on the boat.  Beautiful day for it.  Water us still a little too cold to tube so we did some fishing and cruised around after eating our Little Supermarket subs.

I'm hoping they are going to carry non ethanol gas there.  Would be super convenient.

We were out on Lake George (Bolton Landing) this afternoon for the first time this season.  Absolutely beautiful day.  Water's still a bit chilly but not as chilly as you'd expect when you consider the ice just went out a month ago.  Coach, were you out on Lake Placid?

It ain't that bad. I was in it a month ago, while there was still some ice..... I didn't stay in long though.

Current water temp is said to be 57.

Yes on LP

Water temp was in low 60's

I hear the water temps are up in the mid 60s in the lower hudson now....

Last weekend it was marginally warm enough for my son to tube

Air temp in high 60s this weekend are likely not going to make it a boating weekend unless we decide to go fishing

Boat ramps were really busy but it's a big lake once everyone gets out there

I love my boat but totally hate my trailer.  Darn thing does not want to load the boat straight and level.  I also totally suck still at backing that darn thing up.

Practice makes perfect, Coach. Plus there is "boat launch stress" which only makes things worse. Do you have those side arm things on your trailer? I am told they make a big difference.

It's easy to do Z, you just have to get yourself in the right mind set. Think backwards. In you case - imagine your Bernie Sanders...

Thinking about Bernie would just make the trailer go to the left and the next thing you know the boat would be in the Aegean Sea

We have taken that commercial cruise on LP in the past and you are quite right that  WF seen from the water is pretty awesome .

71 degrees is just too good for an end of season boat ride.  The town was packed with tourists but only locals on the lake.  Supposed to snow next weekend so after we got off the lake the boat went to Fogerty's Marina to be winterized.  

My son wanted to tube one last time which was cold when he dumped but it was bragging rites for him I guess with his buddies.

LP was great today.  First time out on the boat for the season.  Water is still chilly.  

I got my trailer worked on and it's much easier loading the boat.  One bunk was too high leading to the boat going on as crooked as ...



My son water skied for the first time.  Got up on all just attempted and stayed up literally for miles.  We borrowed some teen skis as adult ones floated too much for him.
