gorgonzola
Seems weird that an article about  beer industry trends makes no mention whatsoever about the impact of the craft movements impact on the big guys  other than the spiked laguntias

Anyone try this stuff?  It's pretty much my go to IPA this year.  It's almost 8%, so it's got a little kick.  It's brewed in Buffalo, so I'm not sure if it's available in other parts of NY.

Nope. Too sweet, too much cookie flavor. I may not even finish it. Damn my curious nature!

It’s effing disgusting. I love stouts in general and it was the only one there so I gave it a shot.
Edit: I did manage to finish it- $7

Best backpack/parking lot ski beer.  IMO.

https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2681/34483/

Why?

It comes in a can and it's easy to conceal.

It tastes friggin' great.

It kicks like a mule (and gives you a nice warming sensation).

You really only need one - or two if you like to party.

Technically it's not beer, it's barley wine.

The next best thing is a flask of whisky, if hard booze is your thing.

Oskar Blues makes some good stuff!

Over the summer I discovered their Moskow Mule.  Being a mule fan (Moscow, Kentucky) I gave a four pack a try, and it was a nice alternative to beer.  6.5abv, so not as high test as that Stout.

I’m partial to the flask (tastes great, less filling, none of the bulk)!

I like a flask too - but my problem with whisky is I like too much, and I get too goddamn drunk.

At least beer fills you up and has a lot less alky.

As far as OB, I like most of their beers.  Old Chub is a good Scotch Ale, which is great with burgers or other red meat.  One of my 'cheap' beers is Dale's Pale Ale.  I usually pick a few cans up when I see it.

Speaking of IPAs.....

A tasty Double IPA weighing in at 12.1%.  Gotta like the 2 for 1 ABV when us alcies are drinking our beer!

Flying Dog out of Maryland makes some good stuff.  Their Raging Bitch Belgian IPA is good, and their BloodLine blood orange ale is a vast improvement over Blue Moon.

Speaking of twelve percenters, and given our recent discussion of curmudgeons, tonight at Melzinga Tap House (Beacon) I had Founders Curmudgeons Better Half.  An old ale brewed with molasses, aged in bourbon barrels previously used for maple syrup, weighing in at 12.6%, it was listed under boozy beers on the menu.  For me this one was a little too boozy.  We all know I like booze, but it’s not the predominant flavor I look for in my beer.

Better than Heady
Better than Sip of Sunshine

Tree House Brewery
I’d heard rumors of this place having amazing beer and it’s only sold direct at the brewery
Their IPAs are stupendously great and they have like 8 different versions
This one is called Haze
I also really love Snow which is a double wheat ipa
It’s in Charlton MA in the middle of no where central Mass

Trout town Rainbow Red Ale 7.5% unfortunately the darkest beer available here tonight. It doesn’t suck.
