I say ski em if you want, but they require a lot more energy to turn than today's skis.

I'll still be out skiing while people on straight skis are sitting in the bar getn drunk pusy mfers.
you funny, Matt.      but yeh, keep them for an very occasional session that will serve only to reinforce why skis today are so much more betterer.    I've succumbed to this stupidity in the past, it only takes one run to say WTF am I thinking........

Plus you have to know how to actually ski to ride those things. You know like how to initiate and finish a turn by weighting the ski. Can't just roll the ankles and let em go. Better be on top of them too. I have a pair of fischer 223 downhiller's if anyone want to go for a ride

Brownski, I'm not going to rip on you for your boards.  Far from it; ski on whatever you want.  I would be concerned for your safety with the bindings, though, if they're anywhere near the age of the ski.

Skiing on fully tuned skis is an absolute pleasure.  It's the difference between a Porsche and a Yugo.

Bindings were replaced around 98/99 season I think.

This year, I sent my boards to Caldwell Sport for stone grinding and hotbox.  Still have to prep the wife's and daughter's boards.

Is hot boxing still a thing in Nordic?

In alpine race world the current thinking is it does considerable damage to the ski

Even iron waxing can burn the base if you are not careful particularly with cold temp waxes in Lf or HF where you need high iron temps. CH waxes if you are careful are ok

We are using the pro glide system now for my sons race skis

https://skimd.com/pro-glide

Or a roto cork works similarly
