Favorite Ski Trails in New York?

Was thinking about how much I like Plunge at Plattekill. Probably my favorite in the Cats.  I was having a much harder time picking a favorite in the Adirondacks or backcountry. Never really skied in Central or Western NY.

What are your favorites by region or type?

I'll go with Twister at Gore.  Long, winding and various pitches make it one of the most interesting Blue trails around.

My favorite's at Gore are Sagamore, Echo, Twister, and Showcase.  My favorite's at Whiteface are Paron's Run and Excelsior.  I like  Hoyt's and Wilmington as well.

I'd say my favorite run, although not in NY is Sterling at Stowe.
I've lived in New York my entire life.

Whiteface - Upper & Lower Skyward it's such a big wide trail, there is something for every type of skier.

Gore - Sagamore - seems to go on forever.

Belleayre - Lift Line under the Tomahawk - pretty tight trail and lots of pressure from the peanut gallery on the lift.

Upper Cloudspin by far is my favorite

The slides were open last spring and were crowded and totally skied out after a run or so and I happily skied powder on Cloud well into the afternoon.

I also have a thing for Empire.  It's the opposite of Cloud.  Cloud skis so different depending if you ski it left right or middle.  Empire dictates to you since its maybe 12 feet wide.

Probably Skyward for me, I remember the huge smile I got on my face the first time I ever skied it.

Honorable mention to Lower Steilhang at Gore, Blockbuster at Plattekill, and maybe Helmer's at McCauley.

A second mention for Blockbuster here! Truth be told I haven't skied at any other mountains in NY other than Hunter and that was early season but my best memory of skiing in NY is doing laps on BB in spring skiing conditions. It was sick, full on face slush shots all day long.

Looking back it's weird and now unknown to me how I found Plattekille. This was 93 and I fell in love with it the moment I pulled into the parking lot and looked up at the place. I went to Hunter once but I wasn't driven to ever go back. It was meh....

Plunge is a great trail, give me Plattie when Northface , Plunge and Block are open and no place in PA or the Cats I would rather be.
Hope Laz  revives that old lift they got from Tanglewood, that would bring back the memories.

Plunge is my vote on a powder day. Laszlo needs to go wall-to-wall bumps in the spring though.

^ I was actually thinking of writing that!!! Great trail for sure.

I'm thinking that the Gnar Wall at West might be a contender for badass, steep, right down the face trail on a small mountain.
