Nice stuff !!!!   My son is going on 24 now and one of my few regrets is not taking off my mittens enough to take more ski pictures during those early days.....

Thanks...I have a trove of pics with of two older sons...some as far back as when they we 3 YOs. They would have to be scanned to post. I just happened to have the ones I posted in an email folder and decided to begin this thread.

Magic: Xmas Week 2002 -- back before it was cool to ski there.


I can't remember which of the owners was trying to keep it from going bankrupt during the early 00s; however, on that visit the lifts were running, we had decent coverage for late December, and there was a fair turnout of people -- most, I remember, up for the holidays from the Boston region.

They hadn't gotten around to taking Timber Ridge off the map (looker's left) even though it had gone NELSAP years earlier.

And my most favorite shot and a repeat on here, hitch hiking to Created Butte from Steamboat, spring of 97. It took a solid 24+ hours and we ate shrooms the whole time.

He owned the diner in town

Which one? I worked at the Springs City Diner and the owners name was Mike but no one called him Mikey D.

I am pretty sure that's it,that's why I mentioned it.  He was from the East Coast we were in the same Frat. I could be wrong Scotty would probably remember.

Oh man, that would be too funny if it was his diner. What was his wife’s name? Beth?

I had some wild times while working there.
