Put extra layers on and toughen up.  You're missing out on uncrowded skiing on a holiday weekend and the conditions are great.

Get over yourself, kid.  We were all out there in this when we were 15....and 25....and....and.  In 30 plus years you will find yourself passing on a day like this, for a variety of reasons.  Has nothing to do with toughness or being core.  Most of the "softies" passing on today would out hike and out ski you any day, at this point in your skiing life.  Glad you are enjoying yourself.  Go get it!

Probably a little below zero would be my limit. But if i was with a group that was going out i'd probably go a bit colder. Now that my kids are out of the house, i have a lot more flexibility to pick and choose when i ski. So i'll pick days that arent bitter cold.

Well, when you take days off from skiing, especially on this kind of day.....to spend quality family and friend time....you do things like go to the ice castle in Saranac Lake.  Damn, that was f'ing unpleasant!

Not sure how cold it was today. But I wouldn't say it was too cold, here in the So Adk.  It was cold, but not too cold. Good ski day for me, I'm beat.

However, no new snow to tempt me brave the worsening conditions (temps will be falling through the day).  A day like today is a good day to give up skiing for family time....especially after just dropping a skiing adventure to the PNW on the wifey!
See that's what I call strategery.

Ok. I did about 2 hours in -10 windchill today. Does that make me hardcore Sno?

If you can't handle winter conditions, then you're not core enough.  Core skiers go out in any weather they've got.
You think Glade hacked Sno's account?
Sno your real core - Not.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

I did 8 hours today in -20 wind chill and I'm doing 8 hours tomorrow as well.

Glade did not hack my account, but I hope he's reading this.

It was colder last year this time when we visited the ice castle......but, damn, it seemed so much more unpleasant today.

Maybe I drank more last year before we got there......

Please don't post anything that is inaccurate.  Especially about Greek Peak.

Every time that happens Glade sends me email correcting your mistakes.

I'm not sure if he wants me to post his corrections, or he's just trying to keep me informed.

Today makes you a wuss. Sno put you to shame bro. Come in here posting that -10 smack.

But sleeping in the Mad parking lot and snagging first chair two weeks ago... well that's a different story.

I think it would be fun if sno had a core thread, we could post our accomplishments and he could tell us if we rate.

Like he could be the core judge.

I think an "Am I core, sno?" Thread is a great idea. I will check it daily. I hope he grades on a curve though cause  I don't know if I can live up to the sno-core standard

Ah the balancing act of being a family guy and adulting. this comes to mind.... I think Sno calling every one out for not being core is highly entertaining! Keep it up Loco! Well, maybe don't get too carried away. I really like this place in life for me right now, trying to be core is of no interest, I like my skiing to be fun.

It was definitely cold today, but surprisingly skiable.  I was out all day with several families from NJ renting the "Lookout" who haven't skied all year.  They were so psyched just to be here.  They are hard core and forced me not to be a wussy tour guide.   I'll be out for sure again tomorrow.  I think I saw Harv a few times today toughing it out.

Think I got my first frostbite back in 2010 heading up the Summit lift on WF on a day like this. Right index finger... has never been the same. Gets cold on me in an instant now. The top of my beer was freezing in between sips out on the deck too. It was terrible!
