Hunter's 6 pack and F lift

JasonWx
The 2 main lifts to the summit have been down all week. They must be in full panic mode..

They probably ran out of money to do preventive maintenance and only fix lifts when they break.

There could be any number of reasons why one or the other are down.  I don't know why it was allowed to happen to both.

Really? That seems unlikely to me.

F lift is fixed as of 20 minutes ago.  Flyer is still down with no time estimate.

People will just go to the bar by mid morning.  Hunter will be fine businesswise.

This would have never happened under the Slutskys management. I bet they are rolling in their graves right now.

Funny story. I have a friend who is a snowboarder and he "only rides park." He went to Hunter this week, and only rode the B lift all day. He really didn't give a shit that the 6 pack and F lift were down.

Total shit show is putting it lightly.  Shame on Peak Resorts for cutting corners on maintenance.  Windham and Belleayre are going to be packed.

Apparently they're not even sure whether either will be able to open tomorrow.  They say their top priority is the flyer so that means that the failure on F is major because if it was a quick fix they would've gotten it back up quickly.

Hunter Mountain Underground.

Upon further inspection, I see that the lift was spinning after 6pm, and HMU assumed that meant it was fixed.

Based on FB, I think it is possible but not assured.

They said on the report that the flyer is reopening today, but they're only going to be loading every other chair.  The design capacity is 2600 pph so only 1300 assuming full speed. Lines will be very very long.  Then again the gondola at Whiteface has less capacity than that since they only load 6 and don't run anywhere near full speed.

They load 6 when the lines are short.  I like it that way.

I feel absolutely terrible form all my friends that work at Hunter about this..
The reaction from people I know that call these employees friends has been atrocious...
They feel frustrated at this "perfect storm" that occurred..   And their "friends" drive the knife deeper without all the facts...  It's so fukced up...

I also feel bad for my friends that have had reservations cancelled because of this as well.  And people did say - "because we heard the lifts weren't running" as a reason - which is valid...

This lift issue has been awesome for me.  West side lift is running...  I took the shuttle or got a ride to the Westside and it was empty....  :)
