The $15s are usually for Fridays. We don't have a deal set up, but not sure what the mountain will do.

Have you been to Plattekill before?
No I have never been there.

Well it's going to be limited terrain and rain, but soft snow and a free beer at the end of the day.  Come on out!
I will quite literally take a rain check. If I ski this Saturday it will be using my Epic pass. Not paying extra  to get drenched. Have fun!

Right now it doesn't look like a drench in the Catskills, 1/10th - 1/4 of an inch Saturday.

Where are you going? Have fun.

Today, Hunter. Saturday will depend on last minute weather report, and cheap/free ticket availability. Either someplace on Epic, or Catamount, Berkshire East, Butternut, or something from my WM pass.

Have a great weekend.

I never really set out before with intention of skiing in the rain.  Should be interesting.

Chance of rain at Plattekill was just lowered from 70 to 50%.

Sure but do I need the full on contractor bags or will the shitty kitchen bags work?

Whatever you have and whatever fits best. The clear ones will show off your dapper ski suit underneath. It may be single-use plastic but it is a noble use.

Thanks PeeTex, 2k, JohnF!

Today's get together was a little different than some of the others.

Skiing was pretty soft in the aim, scratchier as the day went on. Highlights of the ski day were first tracks for James and I, and a later afternoon hike over to Northface.

The lodge at Plattekill is loaded with some genuine and warm people, I took an different approach, listening instead of talking so much.  We actually kind of had a meeting at the end of the ski day. All substantive issues were tabled.

We had a good group. Thanks to all who came out.

This was my first NYSkiblog meet up and it won’t be my last. The snow could have been better, but it also could have been worse and rained. We got lucky and the only real wind was at the top. The best part was putting a face to a few people and the beer was cold. Looking forward to next year already.

Thanks again to Harvey for the beer and committing to a date so far out and sticking to it.
