Thanks Harvey!  Your posts made me want to be sick Friday!  Somehow I developed a need for a mental health day!  Blockbuster was interesting and had a good day!  Happy Birthday & hope you eventually made it to North Creek!

This was one of the great days ever. Thanks to all who showed.

I was a little bit shy this year about walking through the entire lodge rounding up people so I think I bought 14 drinks. Also it was Friday.  Still the eight or so guys who showed up and knew I was buying... I got to ski with all. So much fun. Very cool that we were able to contain Suds and ski togethers.

Peetex, I could care less if I buy my own beer. This is something I do out of love for Plattekill to give something back.  It's a special place with no pretense.

It's a gift to buy someone a beer but a treasure to share Plattekill.

I want to buy you a beer.  Well let me tell you a story about the man that runs this place.  He was just getting started and came up to Whiteface.  I was kind enough to give one of his buddy's a voucher.  I got a half hearted thank you and not so much as a beer.  Then on a lift ride up he asks me to take him places that are not so easy to find. Yeah I jumped right on that.  Still ticks me off to think about it.  I should have tossed the ticket in the garbage.

Nope it was when you came up to hang out with Drifter with a few buddies.  I gave the guy the ticket and he did not even make eye contact with me.

I think you might be referring to April 2011, one time that I remember skiing with HPD at WF.  Sorry for the slight, it wasn't intended.  I'm going to try to get up to pay my debt to Scotty in the spring, maybe I can make it up to you too.

Not that it was me (I've had the WF/Gore pass since 2002), but this kind of attitude is exactly why I try not to take any kind of gift from anyone.

I don't want somebody to be upset and hold a grudge about something that happened 4 years ago. Especially something like "wasn't sufficiently thankful for a favor".

Lucky for me, I barely remember what I had for breakfast, so if anyone wants a favor from me, regardless of how you act, I'll forget about it moments after it happens. Unfortunately, that also means that any beers or tokens of thanks will also be forgotten.

Man if I had a beer for every favor that was not returned in kind, I would never be sober.....I still think the best of people, and for the most part, it all works out fine.  I wish Mother Nature would do me a favor now and send NY a massive snow storm.

What about thank you. When a stranger gives you a ticket do you say thank you or do you stare at the ground and grunt. I could give two shits about the guy but when I see a post I'll buy you a beer I know there is an agenda in there somewhere.

I'm just saying, I do a lot of favors, but the joy in doing a favor is helping someone out, be it a good friend or a stranger.

I don't ruminate for four years because my favors weren't appreciated in some specific way. The quotes above just tell me that you and I are very different people.

This is silly, whatever happened is between the two of you, and if you had a problem you should have dealt with it in a more timely fashion. Now here it is years later and you are on a thread about a birthday bringing back some grudge. I don't know Harvey, hell, I don't even like skiiers, but from what I can tell he runs this site with his own money and time for the love of riding, and the love of his home state.
