This is the most redonkulous thing ever.
I think the Chevy Nova we had had the high beam foot switch.

Back when a Nova was a tank, not some Mexican No Go pos.

Shit, was that racist?

It was for the high beams.  Every car had them up until well I don't know.  Probably the mid 70's

I know. That round silver button on the floor. I had a Chevy NoGo too. Got it from my grandma for 200 bucks, it had 17,000 miles on it and was maybe 10 years old.  When I got it home I changed the oil it was a grey foam.  That thing was a piece of shit, but the engine, straight six, was pretty nice.

We keep getting one every year. It’s kind of annoying how wasteful it seems.

Dating sure has changed a lot.

When I became single in 08 I had to sort of relearn how it all works. I dated a few younger gals that year, like 12 to 14 years younger and they had a different way of communicating interests by the use of text messages and photos.

I remember in high school things moved a lot slower. You could be playing phone tag for days. I think it was more exciting, not that dating 19 year olds when you’re in your mid thirties is all that bad either. Shit, anyone know where I can find a hot tub time machine?

I always toss it in the road.

Mrs Harv: "DUDE you aren't proving anything. The phone book guy will never know you did that, some guy from the town will have to pick it up."

Me: "Nut uh!"

Haha! Yup. When I was sixteen through eighteen me and my friends spent a lot of time in NYC. We would go to clubs and see hard core shows and buy 40’s and weed. We would walk right by cops puffing joints and they wouldn’t blink an eye.

Man, I have no idea about this side of NY.

When I was sixteen through eighteen we would buy 40s and smoke weed.  We'd get real girls to do the other stuff.  I don't think cops even knew I existed.

We'd also get permission to use peoples hunting camps, out in the middle of nowhere to have HUGE parties.  No hot tub though.  We never even had a worry about cops.  Worst thing was if you left - people would always get popped for DWI or possession of one thing or another.  I never drove in those days.  I always walked or rode my bike.  I'm one of the few people I know that doesn't have a DWI.

Hard core shows were NYC punk shows basically. I just want to clarify that in case it sounded like something else. :D

Haha - it totally did and I totally thought that's what you meant.

I actually blame the internet for that association.

Never saw Social D in NY. I’ve actually only been to CB’s twice and in all honesty I don’t remember who I saw! The place was kind of gross.

I frequented the Wetlands a lot. It was right there when you popped out of the Holland Tunnel. We followed Into Another and ended up at super random places I don’t remember the names of. Those were some of the coolest bars and clubs though. The year before moving out west my gf and I went to see someone almost every weekend. Bands like Black Train Jack, H2O, Sheer Terror, Quicksand, SOIA, and LOA were the regulars.

It was a completely different time and life for me. I’m not really into the heavy music any more but I’m super thankful for those experiences. It was so much fun being young and having those adventures.
