YES! I'm actually enjoying the warm air. It was a really cold winter up to about two weeks ago.

The couple of good months we had have left me feeling very satisfied and content.

I'm generally pretty happy with whatever at this stage and besides, it's a lot easier for me to focus on my school work when it's not snowing!

In spite of my minor reservations, I did let my older son go to MC with his school ski club (strict instructions to stay away from the terrain parks) and he came back with this picture last week. Actually makes me reconsider, kinda...

Nice sunset pic.  One of the perks of night skiing.  I'm going tomorrow, so I'll report on if it was good or sucked.

I live maybe 15 minutes from Mountain Creek. My old practice office was 5 minutes from the South lodge. As a function of proximity, I ski there about 5-6 times every season, but only on weekday mornings when the insanity level is tolerable.

From skiing there over the last 33 years, the infrastructure of the place has changed with new lodge, better snowmaking, revamping of the lift system, even watching the condo village being built in what seemed like 15 minutes, but the skiing experience is the same. Small hill, minimal challenge.

Still better than not skiing.

I skiied there last Tuesday to get a few hours after work and Mtn Creek never changes.  I had a pass there when I was in school and now I do not question why I rarely go back.  I saw two almost fights in the three hours I was there.  Plus my buddy dropped his beer and some punk kid picked it up and just drank it.  That same punk kid was one of the dudes who almost got into a fight.  Must have been his first beer...

I forgot to point out, just like the OP article, one of the fights was a father pissed that somebody cut off him and his kids.  He was probably right but it will never look good - a 45 yr old man getting pissed at a 14 yr old punk.  The older dude will get nowhere calling out a punk kid.  Mtn creek is not a good place for agro fathers.

The Creek is skiing nicely today.  About 55 with a nice breeze and bluebird skies.  One of my favorite trails, Grand Prix is finally open which has natural double fall line and a good pitch.

Edit:  My phone's autocorrect changed skiing nicely to asking nicely, so I had to manually change it back.

Re: MOUNTAIN CREEK

Just read on the Mountain Creek locals fb group that they're done with snowmaking for the year.  Building base depths in strategic areas this week could be the difference between closing one weekend or the next.  A few bad gully washers can take out trails in a heartbeat.
