Name the New Whiteface Glade

Whiteface asked us to help get participation in their "name the new glade contest."

Name the new Glade at Whiteface! Post your idea for the name here (on Facebook). The name must incorporate the man that put the Lookout Mountain project into action, Jay Rand, Whiteface’s retired general manager of 14 years! If your trail name is picked, you & a guest will be invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony, take first tracks down the Glade on its opening day & enjoy a gourmet lunch at the J.LOHR Wine Bar and Cafe!

Personally, I like the fact that Face is seeking public input, but naming it after Rand is, to me, yet another example of our society's overtop false flattering nature. It's very shallow. The man was just doing his job. I refuse to join the circle jerk nature of such things.

To put it another way....." Since when does just showing up warrant a trophy ? "

Did ORDA name anything after Pratt ?

Holy crap snowballs is back from the dead while I just lurk and post occasionally

Here is a couple names to consider

"Aaron's Folly" since this will never be open much

"Stone Grind" since it will not have enough snow

"Stump Jumper" ditto

Or in honor of snowballs return "paid parking"  . Welcome back to snowballs

Look at the Greek kids here who gleefully jump into the circle jerk for the rand job contest.

I'm far from gleefull

I have not been on here much in the summer.  I occasionally lurk and rarely post anymore unless its about my dislike for the Bell addition to orda.  I got tired of getting shelled for speaking my piece.

It's good to have you back.  There are only a few of us that keep it real and call it liked it is.  Too much sucking up to the ski areas and not enough calling them out when they screw up.  You always kept it real though we occasionally disagreed.

Flying Jay

Jay was an Olympic ski jumper so it fits.  I guess there is a chain of truck stops called the flying j

I was hoping we still didn't have to don kevlar when visiting this site. Time will tell whether one has to return serve or not.

Whats not to like about the new glade?  Hoyts is the last trail ro receive snow making anyways.  Its higher elevation and who cares if there are rocks showing.  Being able to lap hoyts and lookout and then duck down randy land to the summit trail in my mind can only be viewed as a positive.  

If it is open it will be great I'm sure

But since Hoyt's was only open maybe 5 days over 5 years without snow making and this faces south it will never be open.  Seems like a waste of money or a way to appear something new is getting done when in fact it will pretty useless to have a connection that can't connect

Since tjf always reports 3 times more new snow than there really is I'm sure he will get tons of use from this glade

Im pretty sure I will get a lot of use out of that trail  You 5 run wonders wont ever use it but hey happy happy happy.  Chin up aussie life is not that bad.
