Is there anyone here who remembers Plattekill 1998 and Prior?

I'm pretty sure it is a skier bridge. It's still quite obvious that there is a road that crosses there that was originally a right-of-way for the subdivision that still exists there. I'm told that people still own a few of those lots, so apparently the right-of-way has been destroyed.

There are also the remains of a house in the woods somewhere over there, aren't there? Unless I dreamed it, I have a recollection of coming upon a house once while trying to find my way out of the trees.

The house is still there last I knew. You can see it from the double if you look back over your right shoulder at certain points

Said house type structure is actually above shredded mozzarella. Who ever lived there must have a really bad case of  glaucoma ,because it really smelled like those meds.

Are you sure that was it? Maybe some skunks are squatting under the porch or something...

I saw a guy do a jump like this.....spread eagle, actually.  My goggles fogged up from laughing so hard after hearing a giant ripping sound from his crotch.  There was about 8" of fresh snow on the ground; the silence of nature was briefly permeated by that ripping sound.  S***, that was 27 years ago.  I remember it like yesterday.

No one ever lived there. The house sits unfinished as we speak. I't's held up exceptionally well because it has a finished roof and siding, but the inside is far from finished. I'm pretty sure it was built by the mountain back in the day as a spec house to try to promote the building of future homes in that development. Obviously they never made it that far.

But isn't it crazy to think that Plattekill once had a Skier bridge over a road?

If I were Laz, I would finish it and live in it. Obviously he never had any intentions to since he got rid of the bridge. Although, you could still get to it in the summer, and it wouldn't be hard to get to by snowmobile during the winter months.

I think that might get old for him never leaving the mountain. Could feel pretty isolating for the family.  Not sure how much Danielle would dig bring in groceries by sled.

Ethan what is the original image?

If it's not too far gone I'd certainly finish it to a rustic theme and rent it out year round. I think there's huge opportunity there for him. If there's power run to it that would certainly be a bonus but not necessary.

I believe there was an issue with either electric, sewage or water or possibly all three that seemed to have doomed the proposed development.

In fact, I'm not even sure that there was ever an actual bridge there. It could have been just proposed and added to that map where you found it, Ethan. I can poke around and ask some questions if you'd like.
