Shot Boxes

Lately I've been finding out that more amd more people are putting up shot boxes throughout the ski area. Groups of friends install a wooden box with a bottle of booze and a combo lock. When they see fit, they go out and do shots. I am not involved with this practice but I like the idea of it. I'm told that this has been going on for awhile. Obviously these people keep it very quiet to the whereabouts of their boxes.
Does anyone have experience with this?

At Plattekill we have the cardinal, but no lock is required.

Not a fan of locking up stuff on public land. Even Public/Private. I like the idea of hiding something really well, but if someone finds it...

We could easily do it in the woods at Gore
Rules: Do not imbibe alone(you will be in the woods and should not be skiing alone ) and perform a safety check before continuing down the mountain.  We want to be responsible

I've placed a bottle with shot glasses in a purse hanging from a rock somewhere in gore side-country. Unfortunately, this was a bad year for exploring. Maybe next year someone will break the seal.
