My definition of cement is wet shit snow.
SR was definitely not blower, but far from cement.  The low angle of the hill sure didn't help either- we had a great time and it did get WAY better as the morning progressed.  We had to jet at noon to be back to Saratoga and I can say that the last run was the best run.

Doesn't take long to spot the guy with the fanny pack, without that thing Harv would have been staying right on top... Hey maybe put some helium in that sucker on the heavy days?

I agree that snow was fun as hell.

I know I have the rose colored glasses reputation, but MC showed up early, and I think skied the last chair. You know Matt wouldn't pull his punches. If it sucked or was so so he would say it.

If my fanny pack is weighing me down I need fatter skis.

Yeah where is Pow when you need him?  Is Snow Ridge a few inches ahead of Jay at this moment?

Yeah, I skied until about 3:45. It wasn't blower. It was a little heavy. It wasn't cement.

It was just heavyish natural snow. It was like that 2006 Valentine's Day storm - that consistency. You needed pitch to get going.  It was just good to ski natural snow again. I couldn't wait to get on the lift again and go once more. I would've kept going for the last chair if my buddy wasn't getting tired.

So great to ski new snow.

I'm not sure, I think we skied that Tbar line at one point. We found a snowmaking line over on South and hit that three or four times.

I was hitching a ride with Nick and he wanted to head too.  The ride home was kind of a trudge we were so beat!

Love this pic.

Cornhead
Snow Ridge will be open on Saturday, January 2 from 9am-3pm. Two lifts (Ridge Runner & North), base 2"-12" (possibly will increase if we get more snow thru the night), no grooming, no beginner trails and there will be no lessons available. Lift tickets $30.

About a foot of heavyish snow on top of the crusty shit from Monday night. Skis great, even the cut up shit now skis great. The sleet was a great base for the foot, and the two will put everything in play without damage after the next storm.
