Agree 2001 was the bomb.  Literally everything was buried.  The waterfalls on the slides were just roll overs.

Open snow has over predicted except for the big dumps in March when they predicted big and it came in bigger.  They forecast WF at 2800 so in a storm like this one 9-20 could very well be all rain at base and 3 feet up top.

I hate to agree with sno on this but blue ice that doesn’t allow to winch cat it doesn’t sound recoverable even if it warms up.  Put a couple of feet on top of that before it’s groomed and we will have avalanches on Skyward.  If it really is going to snow that needs to get groomed ASAP.

I just don’t see where in the forecast the summit reopens.  It’s poring buckets tonight but gets cold again so this weekend is out.   Might not be anything to grind up by next weekend.  It takes multiple grooms to make it worth skiing which costs $ that they might not be willing to spend.  I think it’s toast.

WF Pond Skimming moved to 4/21, so there is another weekend shot for some spring turns....if the weather cooperates!

Love it, Harv. But reality is that even with all that blue, it's been nothing but scattered extremely light flurries on/off. The flakes aren't even hitting the ground in my hood. But at least the temps favor preservation to maybe make it to this weekend.

Gore webcam made everything look good earlier today, but that's got to be no more than a dusting.

Yeah, cold with flakes in the Placid forecast through Friday.  Summit could see 5-10 by then.  Might be a good mid-winter pow day for those that can get there Friday!  So much for spring weather!

I still have a lot of snow on the property even after this warm weather. Took the bike south for a ride - skis are all put away until next year.

Armageddon to drive

Southern Dutchess looks like a war zone right now.  Damage too widespread for a tornado, but micro/macro bursts can be just as devastating with winds up to 160mph.  We were spared the worst of it.  



Beacon/Fishkill got hammered.  Crazy shit.
