Storm Speculation: 1/12/12

Keep losing power here intermittently now and all stores are closed , trees snapping all around from the 3/4 inch of ice covered by heavy snow and now high winds . supposed to zero tonite UGh damn we're getting everything but the kitchen sink thrown at us now

Hopefully the power stays on this time if not at least the Gas fireplace operates and i got some Kerosuns if need be

Ogdensburg on the river==  just plowed again  about 8 inches down , powers been back on since 2 , approx 1200 here still w/o power-- got no cable yet tho

According to NPR that many are still without power, and shelters are opening to help those without heat.  National Grid is saying that many of those should have power by 3am and many more by 8am.

Going to be a cold one.

Still snowing lightly in North River. Track are filling in from wind probably more than falling snow.

We now have cable restored AS OF 8 PM. Heat has been back on since 2 pm.

Most National Grid customers here were restored around 8 pm .  GOOD THAT THEY DID, TEMPS ARE DROPPING NOW.

We plowed 4 times today/tonight, still snowing lightly now and the winds are picking up again. The power lines and trees are encrusted with 3/4 inch of ice and very heavy snow . We have many downed huge branches and the situation will not improve til temps rise above freezing . So the potential for additional  power/cable / etc outages is still an issue .
