Calling for 6 to 12 here in CNY --- sure beats hunting in the rain

I'm hoping for a lot, but expecting very little.  Trying not to be disappointed.

I'm doing a 5K on Sunday morning, I'd probably be the only person there who's more than pleased if we ended up doing it in a foot of snow!

upslope and downwind of the lakes are the big winners this weekend, with that said Whitface can pick up a couple inches of snow on Sunday into Monday, it they get lucky and get into some lake effect action...it could be locally more.  Gore may see an inch or two unless they get really lucky with some rouge lake effect.  Either way looks like a decently cold week leading up to opening day....storm on turkey day is still a little far out to call.

Extreme Winter Weather Conditions Forecast in the Higher Elevations of the Northern Adirondacks
6 to 12+ inches of snow are forecast in the higher elevations of the northern Adirondacks beginning Saturday night.

High Peaks summits are expecting 12 or more inches of snow, sustained winds of 50 to 60 mph and wind chills of 10 below zero. DEC advises hikers to avoid elevations above 2,500 feet on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

As far as this weekend goes..Hard to pin down who will be the winner.. But I now think a general 4 to 10" snowfall is a good guess..I'm sure there will be some favored upslope areas that might get more...

Coming down hard in Potsdam.  Not sure about what Whiteface is getting.

Whiteface is predicting 1-2 feet.

Lp got ten so far melted down to six. Slowing down a bit more.

So hopefully Lasszo and company is getting private chair ride on his mountain.
