NOAA Graphical snow amount for the Friday 2am time period.  Purple is good, the lighter the better.  Rutland (K-ton) and Placid (WF) seeing purple, with darker blues in VT extending up to the Sugarbush area.  Not as big an event in the NE Kingdom.

The amount of precipitation for Placid and Rutland in those forecasts is showing about an inch of QPF thurs pm to sat am.

Prints 20+ over Gore....I still like 8-12 and I am worried about sleet.

Euro is 12+ looks pretty similar to the GFS but is a tad warmer, doesn't impact the mountains to much.  QPF is prolific widespread over 2 inches across the eastern dacks.

If it's a money issue, take one of these Whiteface guys up on their free voucher offers.

If it's a pessimist issue, the only thing I can say is: in August, when you start feeling the ski itch again, are you going to be upset that you skied a 6-12" powder day the previous April?

I've been lurking here for a while and this is my first post.  What do you weather people think about the wind forecast for tomorrow?   I'll be skiing Gore and they are quick to pull the plug at the first sign of a breeze:

NWS going real conservative with only 6 inches for Gore, I assume they are worried about sleet

You better leave now and avoid the snow and ice line.

the warming aloft is concerning them...
I guess the 0z will tell the story...
i don't trust the 6z or 18z..pretty sure they don't use actual sounding data but use extrapolated data from the previous run

Latest forecasts have the front slowing, which will allow more warm air to work into the SLV, sleet being a possibility for a period in the Friday overnight.

I'm toying with the idea of running up to killington..I don't think it would be worth it for 6"
I've identified the problem. If you don't think a 6" powder day at Killington is "worth it", I can't help you.
4 + hour ride...my only day off

100$ lift ticket + 100 hotel
Come to Whiteface and i'll give you a leftover bogo coupon I have...

Thanks for the offer!!!

I woke up to rain in monticello, Ny ~1500' elevation at 5am.  Forecast was for wet snow>rain.  Looks to be a wintry mix at hunter mtn based on the radar.  The webcam almost confirms that but hard to say

this will be the type of storm where it will be raining out your window and nuking above mid.

Going for the triple crown of Colden on Saturday.  And Sunday I'll be lapping tight right!

I ride with Crazy Horse!
