Teaching new dogs old tricks

lolkl
We thought it was the right time for our 9 year old lab to get a new little sister. Here is a picture of their first kiss.
The puppy's first night in her new home went well. She knows where the dog door is and she is already taking care of business outside. There was some midnight whining from her bed but with a little cuddling she would fall back asleep.

Great looking pup -- Labs  simply are the BEST !!! We had them for yrs -- NEVER had anything but sweet dispositions .

Only downside was my last one ( The Mighty Thor) which we loved .    BUT when the big ole sumbitch was a young-un  he friggen ATE my first sacker's mitt and my wife's leather pocketbook !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great dog tho .

Another funny story on that one is we had guests for a dinner and while we were having a few toddies My wife put a huge Roast beef on the dining room table and summoned me to carve it . Well when i walked into the room the sumbitch had it in his mouth .. Well we weren't amused but damn you had to laff . Thank god for order in Pizza !

Good luck with BOTH of them

It's all coming back to me now. The couch being ate. The sunglasses. The morning Jihad at 5 am. A tornado with sharp little teeth. The hair missing from my beard. High pitched barking for no reason at all.
I love it. I only get this kind of action once every 10 years or so.

Well, the sisters are learning to share and get along. The little one went from 14 pounds to 23 pounds in just a few weeks. She is getting big enough to get into more trouble. I am thinking of starting her on cigarettes to stunt her growth.

Yeah, I hunt birds with my dog. The older lab is awesome. Like most labs she has a good nose and works hard. She points on birds that don't flush, skunks and porcupines. She has been lucky so far. She sits quietly in a duck blind and stares into the sky looking for more birds. I have never needed a radio collar to keep her within shooting range. I'm hoping she teaches some of these traits to the new pup.

The Puppy is still growing. She is getting to be a good dog. She knows sit, stay and come although she responds when she feels like it. I think she is going to make a good hunter. I wish my shooting ability could match her ability to find and flush birds.
