Back on topic:

Whiteface just posted an Instagram photo confirming that they're blowing on Skyward and Paron's instead of just Paron's.  Already looks to be a lot of coverage up there with the natural that already fell.  My prediction would be Paron's for Friday or Saturday and Skyward for Monday or Tuesday.

They are reporting that snowmaking was shut down on Brookside, which likely means that they're setting up the park before opening it.  I suspect that they could be moving those guns up to Easy Way.  We shall see on tomorrow's report.  Boreen is still reported as having snowmaking running, but there's no way to tell if it's on the entire length.

Everything on LWF was also shut down, except for Excelsior.  I think that this just means that they're blowing snow on that spot where Paron's merges in.  It already had a ton of snow on it last time I was there and shouldn't need to be resurfaced.

Once they finish snowmaking on the summit (hopefully by the end of this weekend), that frees up a ton of capacity to blow elsewhere, and I think they'll go back to LWF.  Wilderness, Lower Thruway, Parkway, and Mac could all be on the list.  Wilderness has to be covered before the WC mogul event.  Lookout should also be a consideration at that point, which will hopefully see snowmaking by the beginning of the new year.

Speaking of bars yesterday I noticed a new yurt with a deck along one of our ski runs, I asked a friend (employee for the mountain) what it was going to be used for and I guess it's going to be a bar!

I'm stoked, we will now have three bars even four if you include the outdoor bar at the Agassiz lodge. I can see doing loops connecting them several times in a day.

Back on topic again:

Ethan

Those outdated snowguns that Hunter has on Annapurna have not been phased out everywhere else.

They have them as towers on Colonel's Alternate, and some Hunter One and lower mountain terrain.  Surprisingly, the last section of Belt actually has the.  They also have a large fleet of the same guns, but configured as ground guns instead.

When they blew Annapurna, they used mostly the towers, but also used some ground guns in areas where there are no towers or where they were broken.

I'm guessing Peak Resorts will continue to phase them out over the coming years.

Also, what I don't like about their new terrain expansion scheme:  Belt is the only intermediate run off the 6-pack, and should open the first or second weekend of the season every time.  It opens a full and complete second route, so no bottleneck on Kennedy.  They don't open F-Lift until Minya is open, so everyone has to go down Kennedy to the 6-pack.

I haven't seen them, ise those old guns at all this year. I know they still have them around the mountain, but I've seen them blow a few times this year, and I haven't seen one of those running. On belt, many of them have been replaced with low-e towers already, and where they were still in place, they put HKD 10' sleds there. They also used the 10' sleds on Colonel's alternate this year.
