It was about 15 years ago and it was just lucky.  That I have not had a hole in one is beyond me.

Coach ; having had two aces , i can tell you two things .

It'll happen randomly just don't think about it and secondly THAT ALBATROSS or double eagle takes a helluva lot more skill my friend !

Aces are 90 percent luck , 10 percent skill IMHO

It was a shorter par 5 and the fairway was firm.  I hit a good drive and my 3 wood would have gone way over if it didn't hit the pin.  It was lucky as back then I was not very straight.

I've almost had a few on drivable par 4's.  That to me would be the biggest accomplishment.  

There are two short par 4s on the LP Club courses and not really any reachable in 2 par 5s from the blue tees for me.

I dunno Coach. I'm with Warp in that a double eagle is WAY better than a hole in one. Even a hole in one on a par 4 is only one good/lucky shot. A double eagle is 2 good/lucky shots in a row which is much harder to pull off. Nice work on the Albatross.

bears are very unpredictable and could easily tip a kayak if spooked.  You do not mess with bears - period.

Last year I unfortunately hit a yearling with my car right by Pale Face.  My Lab went ballistic when I got home growling at my car.  A couple of days ago he did the same thing in the forest behind our house. He seems to have an instinctual smell knowledge of what a bear is.  A bear was spotted the next day in the area so the dog knows what he is doing.  In general black bears will steer clear of large dogs while yappy cat dogs probably make a tasty snack.

DAMN^^^^ Judging from the width of that guys head he looks like a big en ---- I agree with you, not a smart move. That would call for an about face in my boat.

It also puts a lot of stress on wildlife to get close to them like that.

Sorta. Bears swim in a STRAIGHT line. For instance, if something is on that line, boat, canoe, etc, Mr Bear will stay straight and climb over the boat. Bad news.

Chances of a bear deviating off a swim course are slim.

That said, the 'yak was beary close in that vid.
