What is the point of having a LONG weekend if it isn’t a FUN weekend? Here’s how we’re going to help you get the most out of your day at Titus Mountain so that when you must head back to work or school after the holiday, you’ll have memories to help you make it through the week!
Despite some warm weather these past few days, we received a little over an inch of snow right before sunset yesterday and the temps dropped into the low teens and single digits overnight which is the perfect kind of weather for our groomers to get out there and work their magic. Groomed snow will be nice and fun tomorrow and as we get into the afternoon with temps in the high 20s it will be fun, soft, and carveable. We’re anticipating all 50 trails & glades open today unless Ma Nature throws us a curveball in the early morning for our glades. As always, check the report throughout the day if you have concerns. If skiing & riding won’t be enough for you tomorrow (we promise not to judge), we have tons of activities for the young and the young-at-heart (not to mention tubing from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Call this the qualifying rounds to our end-of-season party (Mountain Madness – March 17). Here’s what we have on tap: 11a-5p: Face Painting 12p: Challenge Race (lift ticket required) 1p-3p: Craft Corner 1p: Kids Obstacle Race (lift ticket required) 1p: Poker Run (lift ticket required) 2p: All Mountain Race (lift ticket required) 3p: Penguin Paddle 4p: Pictures w/ Titus Teddy 5p: Winter Wars Rail Jam with Moon Valley Parks at Titus Mountain 5p-9p: Live Music by Glass Onion 6p: S'Mores Most of these events are free and open to the public. Come on out to North America’s #1 Family Friendly Ski Resort for Family Fun Day and let’s show you what it’s all about! |
Heading there now after car issues prevented me from getting to Gore/Whiteface. Will update throughout the day.

Spotty cell service so haven't been able to update.
Some observations from today: First it is the flattest mountain I have ever skied. Yes even flatter than Flatton aka Stratton. I actually had to actively avoid green trails because many require you to push with your poles to get through the whole thing. And these are actual runs not just connector trails. The steepest runs are about the pitch of the Boreen Headwall. There are basically 5 pods across three peaks and the ones served by lifts 1 and 8 are the best terrain with the most consistent pitch. The weather made the conditions a bit challenging but patrol seems to leave most stuff open and let the customers decide whether or not they want to ski it. I'd say about half the terrain is groomed and half ungroomed. The lifts are all 1970's Hall models that appear to be well maintained and most are kept cranked up so you don't feel like you're spending all day on lifts. But they lack padding and foot rests. There are no lift lines to the point that they don't even have mazes set up at any lifts. The lodges have seen quite a bit of investment recently and in either lodge it isn't too hard to find a place to sit. In conclusion, advanced skiers would become quickly bored but it's core market seems to be much lower ability levels and it's a great mountain for this crowd, and the place seems well run with ownership investing back into the business.
