Some times from my canoe if I’m on fresh water. I’m a shitty fisherman and I don’t have the patience for it.

You mean like this?

You’d think watching more than 30 minutes of a dude fishing from a kayak would be boring AF, but surprisingly it’s not!

JT, that's where I was going with it. I'd have a hard enough time with a Northern Pike in the ADK.

Yeah, there’s always lots of folks there under normal circumstances. I saw a guy pull an eel out of the water near the marsh a couple years ago. Maybe 18 inches or so. Eels creep me out.

Yeah eels are weird. I saw a sturgeon in the Hudson once. I will never go swimming in the Hudson again.

Understandable...

I remember reading that last year and thinking about how many times something big jumped or splashed in the water near me while paddling and disappeared before I had a chance to turn my head. My red kayak is 17 feet long for reference.

When we had a boat out of Verplanck we used to pull up a lot of eels while crabbing.  They made for good crab bait, too!
