This "hill" is actually a mountain.  It is not an easy ride at all.  I ride over 5 miles just to get to the bottom of it. Then you climb like 600 vertical feet in 7/10ths of a mile.  I do it all backwards to get back.  It is about a 12 mile round trip.  BTW, the mountain is actually Mount Peter.
If you are riding Kaine Road, that is a hard climb, 15% grade, 580', 0.73 miles.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

If you like hill climbs on a bike start training for Bumps. http://www.hillclimbseries.com/
Kain Rd is on the list of early training climbs for Bumps, although I have not climbed it, I have spoken to others who have. They usually will lap it several times.
