How's stability holding up with that much new snow? The PNW had been seeing some minor persistant weak layer issues, and there was a huge skier triggered avy in Red Lady Bowl (Mt. Emmons) CO attributed to persistent weak layer just before Christmas. Be careful out there!
Pretty darn stable so far. There are some things to watch but I bet they will adjust with time and change. The snow pack here is often pretty darn simple and seals up quickly after new loads. Wind events are something to be wary of but the dangers they create are easy to spot if you know what you are doing.
I'm always more than happy to pull the cord and go home if there is something I'm uncomfortable with.
Went walking today, the snow is getting funky but it didn't matter. It was just great to be out there. My third tour for the season on day 17 was a moody day.
I took my daughter for her first walk into the Upper Bowl yesterday. She was excited and nervous but made it down without any issues. I'm a super proud poppa right now! :)
One of my finest moments as a skiing father was skiing the Slides at Whiteface with my daughter. She was 15 at the time. At this rate your daughter should be dropping cliffs like daddy by the time she hits 15!
