I got there at 8:30 and it was Gondi only for a bit...about an hour or so later they opened the Little WF chair. I skied Mountain Run and Thruway until I could see what Wilderness looked like. Thruway was the better of the two because there were less people and you could just peel big GS turns, Wilderness looked a little shiny and I planned another Thruway until I saw some guy cut in down low (even lower than the path they had open) and it looked good so I stayed on the lift to the top. Under the rope on upper Wilderness to some sweet creamy turns and no real mud and rock crossings. The bumps from the mogul comp are holding up well and are truly perfect
Third trip down there was ski patrol in front of me on approach so I was careful to stay behind them. Of course they stopped at Upper Wilderness to admire the lovely tracks that went under the rope. I skied up and said they were mine and if they didn't mind I was going under again. They asked me some questions about the conditions and then gave me their blessing and on I went. For the next ten or so runs I could only give a conditions report on Wilderness, great bumps and plenty of creamy "powder" (AKA Fat Guy Powder) even where the sticks and branches poke through...but I would say if you can, get there tomorrow. There is still some excellent skiing but with warmer weather and lots of sun, tomorrow will be better than Sunday. Thanks for opening on Friday Whiteface
