T2B's just off the upper mountain should be sufficient though eh?
Early season, they usually just have the gondola open, requiring one to go to the bottom on every run. Once the rest of the lifts open, I'll mostly stay above the Freeway/Racing lift. Not saying I'll never go to the bottom till the end of the day, but I'll mostly stay on the steeper, less crowded terrain.

Aren't those upper mountain runs (not including the slides) just groomers though?
Skyward to Victoria and Paron's Run are the two main ways down from the summit, and both are typically groomed. However, Skyward sometimes isn't on powder days or in the spring. I've skied it in the spring with nothing but soft spring bumps all the way down (fun, but a leg burner). Cloudspin has plumbing, but I haven't seen them blow snow on it in a while. It's a shame because that is a really nice trail, and was one of the Olympic runs. When open on natural snow, it is almost always ungroomed.
Elsewhere on the mountain, I've never seen Lookout Below, Empire, or Upper Mac groomed. They have the capability to groom Hoyt's High and do so periodically, but this usually done after thaws. Empire is definitely too narrow to groom, but I'm not sure if they can groom Lookout Below or Mac.

As far as wind holds go, how will you know for sure until you are there and the bell goes off?
Easy, if you think it's going to be windy enough to close lifts, you go to Gore. Then track the report at WF to see if the lifts actually did close.
I've lived in New York my entire life.
