You could be onto something there. It really should be a black as should Victoria for that matter. Marketing does not want that but imo they should ask Patrol since they are the ones that have to pick up the pieces. There seems to be more cautious attitude this year than I have seen in the past. Dec 27 they closed the Gondi not due to wind but because excelsior became a train wreck. The boys in Orange tried to talk those on rentals off going up the Gondi but unless management comes out and says no rentals on the Gondi that day you can't truly police things that much. Patrol I heard made the call to shut it down that day - really a wise choice and probably not popular upstairs and downtown. Same goes for Skyward on Saturday. I've skied it in worse conditions but for the GP it was dangerous so they shut it down and they blew it more. WT blown before a rain storm which is then going go freeze up is going to be hazardous all skiers from Sno's level on down on a Holiday weekend is probably a plaintiff's lawyer's wet dream. There also is a factor of costs to consider. You open that and every day mid week you have to either run the lift which costs about grand a day or not run it and have the Sno's of the world scream that its not open and ask for their money back.

If you don't have the terrain, it doesn't hurt you on the snoloco report card. Return Lookout to the Wilderness!

That's an excuse to close a lift that I've never heard before. I know if I was there that day I would've been pissed. I don't typically ski the gondola once everything is open, normally use LWF, but if it had a 6 flags style line and was stopping all the time as a result, I would not have been a happy camper. I don't care whether Lookout is closed with snow on it or without, if it's not open on a day where it obviously could, and should be (thinking President's Day), I'm not going to be happy. If it's not open for President's Day, I'm going to Tremblant. My family was going to come up to LP that weekend too, but if WF management can't be bothered to open all the lifts like all other mountains do, the area doesn't deserve our business.

All the other debates aside, this may be the very crux of it all. Other mtns do a better job. ORDA falls short. |

Sno - do us all a favor, hold you breath until you get what you want.

NJ said a shit ton of stuff - some right, some wrong, most just to get a reaction. What in particular was he right about Face?
Sno - I like you but please just shut the fuck up and go to Tremblant if that is what you want to do. You can't fix Orda. No body except the Gov of NY can do that and unfortunately he knows absolutely nothing about running a ski area as he well should so just accept it warts and all or plan to ski at Titus.
