Yeah this pattern is no bueno. Hopefully the models will flop back to a snow storm on Friday but I'm not optimistic.

Friday is DOA, pattern is not good for the next two weeks at least.  I wish I had better news :(  its just a really bad pattern.

Not only is the pattern awful, but the timing is horrid.  It seems to rain either the day/night before a holiday or weekend.  I haven't been out in weeks because of that.

Late November/early December was truly a gift.

I missed that gift, sitting at zero ski days so far this winter

LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...

Overall flow is expected to remain progressive across the CONUS with another southern stream system on the approach Monday night/Tuesday. There are indications northern stream energy should interact with this system resulting in a couple of days of unsettled weather with mainly snow.

The system next Tuesday has a chance but won't know more until the weekend.  It's still not a good pattern but it can snow in the mountains in January during a bad pattern.

Tuesday is looking pretty good at this point, will know more by Sunday.

Another ski day on the coach.  I'll ski on and in anything, except rain.

In my experience, the skiing is usually pretty good in rain - my perception is it softens the snow.  It is the first cold day after rain that is couch-worthy.  

Snow conditions are definitely pretty favorable in the rain.  Being wet in a steady rain......not so much.  The way it was POURING in the LoHud this am was definitely a skiing turn off!

This is why I said let's wait until Sunday, looks pretty weak now.  Maybe 2 to 4 inches for the mountains on Tuesday with another similar amount for Wednesday

Wednesday looks more interesting than tomorrow, also looks to have an elevation component.  However, sometimes this SW flow events surprise for GORE and FACE as its a good wind direction for them as long as we stay cold enough.

With winds forecasted to gust up to 60+mph tomorrow at WF I don’t think those couple of inches that fall Tuesday are going to do much to help trail conditions. Wednesday looks to have a little more snow, without as much wind.

Please tell me somewhere inside the Blue Line received more than the inch I removed in the SW corner of the park,  more to keep the snowthrower running than anything.
