Re: Woodstream Conditions

Had 3 guns going all day yesterday. The snow guns put in a solid 40 hour work week this week, and converted about 20,000 gallons of water to snow. For the record, That consumed about 12 gallons of gas on the pump, and about 135 KWH of electricity on the compressor. Not bad at all.

Re: Woodstream Conditions

This is the closest thing to a groomer I have. Doesn't work very well, but if the snow is firm enough it can work decent for building a jump. With the mower off of course. This pic was taken back in 15. This little tractor could actually work really well with some studded tires, and some sort of groomer that runs off the 3-point/PTO

I'm still looking for some sort of machine that fits my budget that works well in snow.

I do have this machine. My grandfathers actually. He doesn't use it anymore. Its hasn't run in years. It has always been my dream to put a set of rubber tracks over the tires, fabricate a plow to replace the bucket on the front end, and some sort of rake /groomer on the back that went up and down off the stabilizer jacks mounted to the back. It used to have a small digger on the front. Also, the engine needs some work, and it's very unstable on steep hills. The tracks should help a little.

Just get chains for that tractor? Another lil trick is to put windshield washer fluid in the rears for weight. It's non-corrosive and won't freeze. I've had the rears on my tractor filled with it for years.

Tracks would be sweet on that bobcat, but certainly costly.

If I get to where I actually build, or buy a proper grooming machine a reasonable amount of cost won't be a problem. The rears on that tractor are actually already filled with liquid calcium.

Harper made for an epic weekend at Woodstream this weekend. I did not make it to any resorts this weekend unfortunately, but there was no need for that.

Yup. That's what it came down to for me. My brother drove all the way from Harrisburg PA to ski Woodstream this weekend. he has a Peak Pass and skis Roundtop frequently and said they only get rain.
