...you see a guy w/ his jacket unzipped air off the huge rock in the Darkside Glades, land on his BACK, and impact hard enough to knock off his helmet AND mittens. He was OK... I think.

I hope not. It looked like it hurt! His girlfriend was taking video, so I have my fingers crossed that it will show up on YouTube.

I always wonder why idiots jump off of that. Flattest landing on the mountain. It's like jumping off your deck into your yard, but, for some reason, because it's at a ski area, people think it's a good idea...The move is to ski around skier's left of that rock and launch off the rock below it. Still a good air, with a much better landing.

New Jersians use their vehicles as road blocks on the access road.

Parking is backed up to Stewart's.

The day begins...  Your mountain awaits.

Last night the parking lot looked like an inner city traffic jam. It must have been a banner day for ticket sales, cars were all the way down the access road and Lot H was full.

Actually I wish I had made it to Dark side, my favorite place on the mountain. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control the lower mountain was it for me. However there was plenty to ski with all the glades.

... It takes 25 minutes to get up the access road and you're forced to park in E lot. At 8:15. Then witnessing the largest gondola line of all time. Gross. (Once they opened up some other lifts the skiing was great, FWIW)

That's like saying it was the humidity, and not the heat.

I rode once (ONCE) on the Adirondack Triple that just sucked the life out of me.

I got stuck at the top of the Burnt Ridge Chair (1 chair from the top) yesterday afternoon for about 15 minutes with that wind gusting. The cold sapped all energy and reflex out of my legs. I had a tough time making turns in Tahawus after that. Had to call it a day. I did muster enough spring in my legs to play tourist slalom on the way out though.

yeah but the triple was the best way to get to High Peaks that had no wind and that warm sun midday.  Skibowl wasn't bad and really neither wasn't Straightbrook...We are just spoiled from the warm weather so far.  This was the best two days of skiing in well over a year.  I managed to avoid the wind most of the day...and we have to give some kind of Kudos to Gore as I really didn't wait on a liftline all weekend with the exception of that first ride up the Gondi yesterday.   Let's just hope some of the money Gore made this week makes it back to Gore
