4-6 inches at Gore tomorrow, best skiing tuesday and wed this week.  Wed to Friday look warm with rain on Thursday...Sat and Sunday look seasonable but starting Monday we go into an all out warm pattern that could last for at least a week.  Hit the slopes now while you can......

this looks considerably better than all this talk of rain from Sno. There is just too much cold air in place for this first system to be all rain.  Second one is more problematic though.

That forecast doesn't look nearly as bad as the NWS long range map, which if you're a skier is a flaming pile of dog shit.

The moisture train just won't quit, we have had unsettled weather now for four/five weeks straight. Jackson is about to break 300 inches for the season. Avie danger though has also been huge this season.

Thursday looks just awful for the east. Yuck.

I'm flying out to Lake Tahoe a week from tomorrow. Looks like it's gonna be all time.

I avoided a shit show...
I mentioned back in Sept it was gonna be a Cali year...It was inevitable, too many years of drought ..

The touring in the Eastern Sierra is going to be so good this spring. I hope I can make a trip.

As of now there is no indication of a pattern change..There is no high latitude blocks just too much progression..so we might get cold for few days but it will be followed by a moderation...

When the west/cali goes off..it very hard for the the pattern to change...ie:1982 was a huge western year..not so much here..same for 1992...
I'm sure we will have more snow, but will it stick around...hmmm who knows..

The radar is looking very ugly right now. The temp here in NNJ is 60. Horrible.

Jason, we have clear signs of a pattern change around JAN 25th.

Yes and No..
There is a nice ridge at 500 mb forming along the west coast up into the Gulf of AK. But at the same time there is no North Atlantic blocking.. Without that block the pattern will remain progressive..
Now if we get some blocking then we will have a return to a more sustainable cold pattern..All that being said, we are still looking at the tea leaf 300 hr boxes...
