Latest GFS shows the 540 line way north of us from Tuesday to the following Tuesday...

57 in Rutland right now although ludlow was 40.  57!

37 in Potsdam.

What is more telling is the 850 temp next week approaches +9c for northern ny.. with sun the temps will approach 60..
i'm not holding out much hope for the month of January...

Well someone's cranky.   On the bright side, while still in a thaw, the next week looks a whole lot better than it did just a few days ago.

I am now on board with a return to a more normal pattern in Feb..
But the rest of this month looks lost..

Are you saying there is little chance for snow or...?

To me it's hard to imagine the rest of the month lost.  If it's warm and sunny (like maybe 40 or 45+) there should be some good skiing.  If it's cold and sunny (no snow) there will be something going on somewhere with snowmaking.  Lost to me would be alternating moonsoon rains alternating with bitter cold.

The models are showing a lot of rain for next week...
but maybe that will change...

Skiing is on hold. Hopefully it returns in a few weeks.

Yo  dude..I didn't say anything about rain this past weekend.. It's this coming week and next....

See this is why you can't have nice things.

Looks like we are catching a good break and avoiding another gully washer.  Its been trending where the temps are lower than Forecast.  Saturday caught a number of us off guard on how cold it was given the forecast and I was undressed and freezing when I had to be out teaching most of the day.
